Now I don’t partake in today’s festivities but I do know a lot of people who do, so if you do I put together a list of musical motivation to get you going on this weed smokers holiday. Enjoy.
“In order to be in the rap game nowadays you have to be willing to sacrifice your soul to the Illuminati, and I’m just not willing to do that” We’ve watched this video like 500 times!!!!!!!!
10. J Cole
7. Bow Wow
6. LL Cool J
5. Nicki Minaj
4. Kanye West
1. Big Sean
As many of you know, I love Kendrick Lamar. His humbleness, intelligence, crazy flow, and artistic integrity are the reasons why he is one of my favorite artists of all time. So I have compiled a list of the Top 5 Kendrick Lamar songs. Tell me what you think. Agree? Disagree? Let me know why.
5. The Spiteful Chant ft. Schoolboy Q
Spiteful Chant is a strong track. Although is at times arrogant, it is with good reason: when Kendrick was small time, no one cared about him, and now everyone wants to ride his dick. That’s why he says “I’m going big…..”
4. Look Out for Detox
Look Out for Detox is a freestyle, but its very powerful because it displays Kendrick’s rapping abilities. His flow is crazy!!!!! It starts slow, but damn he goes really hard as the song progresses. He’s the king of freestyles. I was speechless when I first heard it!
3. No Make-Up (Her Vice)
This song resonates with me as a woman because we do hide our imperfections with makeup. This song is deeper than hiding imperfections; the girl in the song is hiding her pain. No amount of makeup can hide the emotional scars of abuse. We don’t find out why until later on in Section 80.
2. Growing Apart (To Get Closer)
Growing Apart (To Get Closer) barely came in second place. Every time I feel down I play this song and I get inspired to keep “growing”. Kendrick raps some of my favorite bars on this track:
“We all seem to stumble, planning our own demise Forgetting the big picture and making it wallet size So to what’s important in my life, I apologize I promise to stay faithful, focused and sanctified We all get distracted The question is, would you bounce back or bounce backwards? Would you not know how to act or take action? It’s just a part of life”
My favorite Kendrick Lamar song has to be A.D.H.D. From the smooth chill beat, to the deep lyrics, to his perfect flow, I will never get tired of this song. There aren’t enough words to describe how much I love this song. All I can say is…genius!
